Open House

Open House

Tea and biscuits plus plenty of chat are provided for anyone with a taste for either. If you’d need a lift to come, just drop us a line – there are people around who are happy to provide transport if needed.

Open House is held in the Parish Hall / Church House on various Wednesdays (have a look at the forthcoming events page for the next dates).

In the past year Open House has maintained a steady number of visitors, not always the same people although there are a few ‘regulars’.

Not everyone is a member of St Mary’s family. Local people and visitors to the town join us from time to time.

The reasons for coming are many and various; some people are new to the town and want to find out more about the life of St Mary’s; some have been bereaved recently; some are not able to leave their homes without help. Often members of the clergy join us; the rector sometimes brings his dog!

Whether people are talkers or listeners – or even both – whatever the age or situation, all are welcome. Open House is about informality and friendship.
